Conclave 2009

On September 18-20, Section W3N (formerly W3B) held its first-ever Conclave; it couldn't have been better. The location at Coast Guard Island in Alameda was by far the best thing about this year's Conclave. Instead of setting up our tents in the field of a middle school, we got to use a patch of grass right next to the water! Talk about a great location.
Although most of the classes were held outdoors, they were all extremely well run and I, personally, learned some great things (many of which I will be utilizing back in our lodge). Some scouts who attended this year's Conclave even got to take a scuba diving class! In the afternoon, we had a blast playing games and socializing with other lodges. That night, before the best show I’ve ever seen, we elected our 2010 Section Officers. Our own Ben LeRoy and Mike Millerick were elected section chief and secretary, respectively.
I'm sure we're all looking forward to next year's Conclave in 2010, which will be at Camp Navarro, and which Orca Lodge will be hosting!
